I don't think they conflict, oddly enough - to clarify, given the small number of paths tested by Nalini, and the fact that they are focused on the internet core (and on destination options), the results there are expected and consistent with what we saw. I also agree that in the 2020 study we find many paths which drop packets with options (particularly HbH, but also Destination options in edge networks)  in line with RFC7872!
