problems with readers.conf and nnrpd logging

readers.conf
I tried to define 2 "groups" one is localhost+*.ASARian.org
as hosts with access as the example <localhost>, the other
with read access from anywhere to alt.abuse.*, alt.sexual.abuse.*,
alt.recovery.* subhierarchies. I tried copying the <read>@example.com
example, but nnrpd always uses the readonly definition even for
localhost or the defined hosts in that entry.
seperatly I need to restrict the logging from nnrpd, its listing
every read newsgroup with counts and that is way too much data.
is there a way to limit the logging?
thanks... (readers.conf follows)
