Virtual Conversations® The Arabic Series[2] is a role-playing, 
educational experience with the Arabic language. 

The Department of Defense helped support the development of this unique
series.  It is the only language product that allows you to conduct
one-on-one, in-depth conversations in Arabic with native Arabs. 

The best way for Arabic language students to be fluent in Arabic is to
“practice, practice, practice.”  This program allows anyone to independently
practice speaking, listening to, and understanding Arabic by conducting
virtual interviews of four native Arabs. A virtual instructor helps you
pronounce and understand a plethora of phrases required to conduct the
extensive interviews.  Your interviews can last for several hours and be
replicated, in whole or in part, again and again. Virtual Conversations®
logic assures that the flow of each interview will differ from any that
preceded it. 

These Virtual Conversations® programs have been evaluated in scientific
experiments funded by the Department of Defense with students at the Defense
Language Institute. The results provided compelling evidence that
role-playing through virtual dialogues with these native speakers is the
fastest, and most enjoyable, way for students to refresh their memory and
increase their speaking and listening skills in Arabic. The details of these
experiments and the findings have been published in the Calico Jour nal.
