 The current history file format on disk varies depending on whether INN
 was built on a 32-bit or 64-bit system, or was built with large file
 support or not.  The on-disk file format should be standardized and
 dynamically updated if need be so that systems can move from 32-bit to
 64-bit.

 Attached is a patch from Marco d'Itri that was used for the Debian INN
 packages, which adds a 64-bit variant of the history backend.  This isn't
 the best solution, but it's an interesting workaround.
