News and LDAP

Hi,

    My name is Ricardo and I work in Sao Paulo Treasury Secretary in Brazil.
    I'm trying to manipulate the Inn-News code in C, intending to do the News and LDAP connection. 
(LDAP is a textual database which has many attributes like user name and password) (Sorry, if you know what is LDAP...)
 
I've changed the nnrpd.c (specially the PERMinfile function) code adding LDAP API C functions which would do the authentication against LDAP. I also have changed the syslog to print some useful informations for my debug :-).
But I have dealed with some problems:

(1) every time the PERMinfile is called, the first user's paremeter is NULL. why ? why didnt the user parameter doesnt receive the real value which is given by popup window in browser ? At second time, it's ok. (it receives the right parameter)

(2) The authentication works with News in Outlook Express Client but not in Netscape Client.
