I proposed that when the patch was submitted for the first time, but
somebody replied that a single command is processed per each select
loop. This means the ctlinnd socket is unsuitable for mass cancels.
(http://www.linux.it/~md/software/News-ICC-0.2.tar.gz is a perl
implementation of the library used by ctlinnd to talk to the socket.)
