Where are my inodes ?

Hello.

I'm running inn-2.2 news server on BSDI 4.0 OS.

My spool has 1527076 inodes used, but history file consists of 1004492
lines only. Active file has 24042 lines.

Can anybody explain me where are 1527076 - 1004492 - 24042 = 498542
inodes ???

Spool is supposed to be used only by INN (And I think it is).
Truly, spool is splited between 2 partitions, but it doesn't mean
anything.

Seems like something eats my storage space, but no one knows what it
is !!!
