hi,
Running latest inn2.3 with cnfs on ibm/aix 4.3.3.
Have tested all 3 overview method tradindexed, buffindexed and ovdb.
I can't get newnews command to work using tradindexed or buffindexed.
Using ovdb I think it works all right - but having tested that much.
Using 'tradindexed' news.notice logs a lot of these.....
#############################################################################
Feb 22 10:56:10 holein1 nnrpd[16866]: tradindexed: could not mmap data
file for at.blackbox.trend.kommentare: Invalid argument
#############################################################################
Using 'buffindexed' the nnrpd connection is closed......
#############################################################################
newnews * 000220 070000
buffindexed.c:1512 Can't malloc 0 bytes: Invalid argument230 New news follows
Connection closed by foreign host.
#############################################################################
I think I'll go for buffindexed - do you think the newnews problem
can be fixed?
Or should I just tell my users - SORRY!!!
--------
Just another thing configuring newnews...........
Have I misunderstood something about enabling newnews in etc/inn.conf ?
allownewnews: true
If set to "true" I get this using newnews:
502 NEWNEWS command disabled by administrator
But if I edit etc/readers.conf and have this...
access: "RPN"
instead of just
access: "RP"
-the newnews command is no longer disabled.
/Erik
