CNFS not storing articles

I can not see anything misconfigured in my overview.ctl. The directory
uniover contains 1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ 5/ 6/ 7/ 8/ 9/ 10/ directories each with
an overview file (0 bytes). The directory tree and files are all owned by
news.news with rwxrwxr-x permission settings.
My newsfeed file is using the overview api entry

This is really puzzling.
