My understanding is that this can happen when a cycbuff rolls over and
that it's not a serious problem, but after looking at that code, I can't
understand what exactly it's trying to do.  If this warning is really
harmless, I'd like to suppress it if we can detect that it's harmless.
Could someone more familiar with this part of the code fill me in on
what's going on?
