garbage in CNFS overview ??

>From the look of those strings I think these actually appeared in a
Subject header and something confused them with a Newsgroups header.
That could (wild guess) be related to another frequent cause of
overview corruption: running overchan with WntO instead of WnteO (or
any other wrong flags for that matter).
