cron.daily errors

When running cron.daily, I get these errors:

/etc/cron.daily/inn-cron-expire:

touch: creating `/var/lib/news/tmp/doex16336': Permission 
denied
chmod: getting attributes of `/var/lib/news/tmp/doex16336': 
Permission
denied /usr/bin/news.daily: /var/lib/news/tmp/doex16336: 
Permission denied

The command that is issued ( in /etc/cron.daily/inn-cron-
expire):


#!/bin/sh
/sbin/chkconfig innd && su - news -c "/usr/bin/news.daily 
delayrm"


I see that /var/lib/news/tmp is owned by news:news, but 
there is no file 'doex16336' within it. Does anyone have a 
clue what might be going on?
