  I think my first reply was lost, or at any rate didn't make it back
here...

  New controllers and Netfinities, built to spec less than two months
ago. I have to pull one apart for a part number on the controller. And
until recently the stripe size couldn't even be changed from Linux, NT
was required. IBM is getting better.

  I think the max stripe is now 64k, still far smaller than optimal for
news, which seems to want large everything.
