Some checks (derived from C News) were added a few years ago to
newgroup.pl that would catch this, but they are commented out
(originally with documentation advising that sites review and
uncomment as desired).  The INN docs don't seem to mention this so the
defaults should definitely be more strict.

The usefor naming rules are much more elaborate than that.  Unicode
chars are included, with some bizarre restrictions.  Somebody should
really try to implement that stuff before it becomes an RFC.
