Ah, you prevent spamming by using a reasonable authentication scheme
(readers.conf provides a powerful pluggable method for doing this). IP
spoofing is no more an issue than with any other TCP-based service; don't
worry about it. Other than that, you trust the generally high quality of
the coding in INN to be resistant to attacks (e.g., buffer overflows).
