When running makehistory -Ox (inn 2.3.2) on a news spool
that was rsynced from an old news server running inn 1.4
(read: Collabra) I am running into the following errors:
Sep 6 17:05:46 smaug makehistory[8323]: [ID 131604 news.error] tradindexed: packgroup cant write to
/usr/local/news/spool/overview/n/p/m/b/netscape.public.mozilla.builds-NEW.IDX: No such file or directory
Sep 6 17:07:51 smaug last message repeated 129 times
Sep 6 17:48:08 smaug makehistory[8996]: [ID 131604 news.error] tradindexed: packgroup cant write to
/usr/local/news/spool/overview/n/p/m/m/netscape.public.mozilla.mac-NEW.IDX: No such file or directory
Sep 6 17:48:08 smaug last message repeated 32 times
Sep 6 18:50:18 smaug makehistory[9788]: [ID 131604 news.error] tradindexed: packgroup cant write to
/usr/local/news/spool/overview/n/p/m/m/netscape.public.mozilla.mac-NEW.IDX: No such file or directory
Sep 6 18:50:19 smaug last message repeated 32 times
And this is just a small sample I get over 500 of the
following as well:
makehistory: Can't write overview data "@050100000049000018110000000000000000@"
I would have preferred to keep the overview tradindexed, is
there any way to accomplish this which does not entail
renumbering and/or deleting articles? Basically the goal is
to have a relatively seamless transition from the collabra
server, such that the news readers won't notice when the
news server cname changes (other than performance
improvements, of course ;-).
Best Regards,
Roman
