Okay, so much for going back to work on other stuff.  :/

Apparently I seriously broke the storage.conf group matching.  I'm going
to go back and fight with it again as soon as I get out of a meeting.
I'll try to have this fixed in CURRENT and STABLE by the end of the day
(looks like I need to write a test suite to figure out what's going on).
