NNRP Perl Auth and LDAP Authentication

Hi all,

Thanks for all the help in getting the INN based news server
set up. I have a couple of other questions.

In inn.conf, I saw the following:

	nnrpperlauth: false

and from the man page for inn.conf:

      nnrpperlauth
Whether to use the Perl hook in nnrpd(8) to
authenticate readers. If this is enabled, normal
readers.conf(5) authentication will not be used,
and instead the Perl hook will be called to
authenticate connections. This is a boolean
value and the default is false.

I assumed that this is what I'd be able to use to authenticate
users with a Perl script using Mozilla::LDAP::Conn module.

Where can I find documentation on how to use this feature
and is this the feature that I should be using to authenticate
users?

Also, does setting this to true totally make irrelevant the
information in readers.conf file?

Thanks in advance for any leads on this.
