Another newbie question.

OK I tried it with a FreeBSD host and this is what I get.

[cr1] /usr/home/nicvw # telnet 10.4.3.222 119
Trying 10.4.3.222...
Connected to 10.4.3.222.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Err, can you try with a unix telnet client?  For example:

~ > telnet news 119
Trying 3ffe:2900:f10a::1...
Connected to news.
Escape character is '^]'.
200 news.litech.org InterNetNews NNRP server INN 2.4.0 (20020312 CVS
prerelease) ready (posting ok).


That is, of course, the kind of thing you want to see.  But I'm not sure
what "blank screen" means.  Hopefully the unix client will give better
error messages.
