Hello,
I recently started working on inn. INN v2.3.2 on solaris with the
following configuration.
Spool storage: tradeindexed
overview storage: tradeindexed
groupbasedexpiry: true
expire.ctl is
/remember/:7
alt.*:A:0:2:2
comp.mail.maps:A:0:2:2
*.answers:M:1:35:90
news.announce.*:M:1:35:90
unregistered:A:never:never:never
*.weather:A:0:2:2
*.test:A:0:1:1
historyfile size: 404975372 bytes
One of themain problem is articles are not expiring as seen from
expire.log as follows. The news server has crashed, but I got them back
by deleting overview and history and re-created both from the spool.
>ctlinnd mode
Server running

>ps -ef | grep expire

news 19811 19810 5 00:26:38 ? 13:52 expire -v1

news 14514 14505 0 12:00:03 ? 0:00 /usr/bin/sh
/usr/local/news/bin/news.daily expireover lowmark
news 14505 29437 0 12:00:00 ? 0:00 sh -c
/usr/local/news/bin/news.daily expireover lowmark
Why do I see 2 news.daily running here.
Also, I carry 2676 newsgroups according to my active file. For every 20
minutes the spool is consistently increasing 15MB-20MB. How do I track
and stop this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Prakash
