They almost certainly don't work completely, since they've basically not
been touched since the original CVS import and lots of other things have
changed.  But they should be on roughly the right track.

IIRC, gprof was easy enough to learn that I figured it out in a half-hour
the last time I had to use it, but that was something like six years ago
and I've forgotten how it works again.

I'm wondering if the old overview method managed to cache the mapped
overview files or something.  Hm.  Time to dive back into the old code and
figure out what it was doing, I suppose.  Bleh.  If the new code is
closing and reopening the overview files for every XOVER command and the
old code isn't, that could possibly explain it.
