Rick,

You need to create a System V-style startup link or else start it from
rc.local.

If "ps -Af|grep innd" does not show anything, it ain't running.

Dave.

How do you know if INN is running? I installed a vanilla RHL 7.2 server,
installed INN per INSTALL, and I don't see anything in ps -ef about INN.

Does it start automatically at boot? My /etc/services has this in it, not
sure if that's correct or not:

nntp 119/tcp readnews untp # USENET News Transfer
Protocol
nntp 119/udp readnews untp # USENET News Transfer
Protocol

Don't shoot the messenger,
