You're connecting from localhost which is 127.0.0.1.
Is your localhost allowed to connect to your server?
Did you change any IP addresses?
Try to connect with another source address (man telnet).

Run nnrpd as news user and see what does it say, just for testing.

I'm not sure i'm right. At least, try it out.
