I think you have the same problem as another fellow in
news.software.nntp. I wonder if Red Hat installs INN with the wrong
permissions.
Either:
chown news:news rnews
chmod 750 rnews
(wherever rnews may be found on your installation), or:
chmod 775 /var/spool/news/incoming
should fix the problem.
Nigel: I am using Mandrake which is Based on Redhat
I have tried what you suggested above and now all of the items in
/var/spool/news/incoming have disappeared
That's the good bit. The Bad bit is these 5 Items Have disappeared
altogether no trace under articles, no update info in overview. And no
errors in the Log ( I made a copy of all the Log files for news )
Can anyone suggest how I am trace what happened when they moved from
/var/spool/news/incoming......to ?
(the newsgroup these articles were destined for is set to
never:never:never so there should be no expiry )
Thanks
Nigel.
