add newsgroup

hello all!

i have installed inn 2.2.3 on a Suse 7.3.
i have read some documentation and tried to create a newsgroup (i gave 
the command "ctlinnd newgroup local.portal y"). when i see the files 
active there is an entry with local.portal but when i see what 
newsgroups i can subscribe thereis no newsgroup (named local.portal).

what am i going wrong?


fyi: this is supposed to be a stand allone newsserver. there is no 
interaction from the outworld.
