only recieving cross-postings for some groups

Hi --

I've noticed some really odd behavior lately.  It seems that certain
newsgroups are only receiving postings that are cross-posted to other
groups and not those that are sent only to that particular group.
The groups that seem to be most effected by this are the rec.photo.*
groups.  However, it appears to be happening on various other groups
as well.  Can anyone provide some insight as to why this is happening?
Is this most likely a mis-configuration on my part or is it perhaps a
problem with my newsfeed provider?
