Given the nature of the load, and the proof that the other five machines 
are working okay, I suspect a configuration issue here. The disks is 
relatively unloaded, when you get to 8TB you can spread head motion 
nicely. And the IBM ServRAID controllers have been doing a good job for 
us for years, and in a total of 38 servers, so that's unlikely as an 
issue. Not to mention the problem of changing the format of the storage 
on a machine that size, taking a full feed.

I want to understand the problem better before I try a workaround. If I 
didn't have other working I would try something else, but I know I've 
done something wrong here.
