There may be a reason for the error in the news.notice file.

You can find out which article is responsible by running

     ~news/bin/sm @05000000000500001A530000000000000000@

The only thing to be careful of is that some articles aren't missing 
from overview entirely.  Otherwise, no harm will come from this.
