actsync: cannot retrieve data: Illegal seek

I can't say I have, but looking at the source I don't see an obvious  
way for that error to crop up.

I can imagine it might be a manifestation of trouble talking to the  
server, though.  If you telnet to port 119 of the server you're  
trying to sync to, and issue LIST, do you get a list of groups back  
without any trouble?
