Missing file innd.pid

What is the program(s) launched in the start section of your init script?


> Shall there be a line with a innd.pid in inn.conf and if yes then where ?

See the value of pathrun: in inn.conf (usually at the end of the file).
The innd.pid should be in that directory (is it writeable by the news user?).
And you should also look at the logs (in pathlog:).
