Did you remove the overview database before rebuilding the history?

My suggestion is usually this one:
Why don't you just feed your old spool to your new news server?
It is the most proper way to achieve a spool migration
(especially between two different architectures).

Some storage and overview methods CANNOT be moved between 32 and 64 bit
systems, and while in principle it may be possibile to convert the data
there are no tools to do it.
