Issue to add a newsgroup

Hello,

I can't add a new newsgroup and I don't understand why:

[root at localhost ~]# service innd status
innd (pid 24927) is running...
[root at localhost ~]# ps aux | grep "news"

[root at localhost ~]# ctlinnd newgroup bugtracker.default
ctlinnd: no innd.pid file; did server die?
ctlinnd: cannot send "newgroup" command (sendto failure): No such file or directory 


What is wrong ? I don't understand the error message.
