The syntax is checked for the command-line, before any treatment.
If the same article is offered by 100 peers via CHECK or
something else, it will give 100 error lines.  Hopefully the
amount decreases when posting agents and serving argents have
enforced RFC 5536.

Ah, I had not seen that it was "Nov 13", before the release
of the 20091116 version.  So that's fine if it has been accepted.

Incidentally, we should warn the poster who uses that wrong message-ID
pattern to change it, shouldn't we?  He does not seem to be a troll
so we should not lose his messages (this one is in comp.sys.mac.system).
