wrong here. It feels like two different philosophies are work in the
proposed spec and that they are going different ways. I feel like *I* will
have endless trouble getting the config file correct.
I suspect the problem is that \<newline>. is being overloaded to do two things
1) formating the config file
2) inserting a newline in a value
Part of my feeling is that in most other contexts \<newline> is always elided
and doing something different here will confuse me.
So I'd advocate that these two uses should be disentangled and both supported.
Hum.... and I guess I don't know how I'd make the wildmat's that I currently
have in newsfeeds under the proposed scheme. They are very long ...
