Ok, the history so far

- installed new innd with OV_DEBUG compiled in
- disabled expireover
- rebuilt overview with makehistory -O
- ran newsserver for more than one week without any problems
- started expireover manually (took 28h on P3-400 512MB RAM, 24GB overview)
- innd crashes with core dump about four times a day, error message:

Feb  2 22:22:30 elvis innd: buffindexed: block(0, 51779) not occupied

(the $pathtmp/$pid file is attached in gzip format)


So it's definitely expireover which is causing the overview corruption.
