Hi folks, finally I finished my work on a patch that enables "cache file" usage when protocol "irrd" is used. The patch is attached to this mail (irrd-cache-usage-patch). When a "cache file" is given with option "-f" and when resolving route- or as-sets the patch makes the "irrd" protocol implementation look up the "cache file" before querying an IRR server. route-set definitions in the "cache file" can be composed of prefix-ranges and/or references to other route-sets (route-set names) being defined either in a "cache file" or in the database of an IRR server. as-sets can be composed of AS numbers and/or references to other as-sets (as-set names) also being defined either in a "cache file" or in the database of an IRR server. The patch has been successfully integrated in version 4.8.5 and I had no problems with it. Please try it! :-) feedbacks are welcome. Cheers! Hagen Boehm
