[Kea-users] ConfigurationDirectory 'kea' already exists but the mode is different. (File system: 750 ConfigurationDirectoryMode: 755)

Hi, Ronald!

We recently became aware of this warning too. It should not prevent Kea
from functioning properly if you leave it as-is.

The proper way to get rid of the message is to add
"ConfigurationDirectoryMode: 750" to the "[Service]" section, although
you may want to wait for an official update to the systemd file.

Unrelated, if you're running on a Debian-based system, uninstalling and
installing Kea 2.6.3 does result in a more serious error that prevents
reinstallation.

dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting:
unknown system user '_kea' in statoverride file; the system user got
removed

This can be resolved with "dpkg-statoverride --remove /etc/kea" before
installing again.

We are working to address both of the issues and we'll likely provide
new Kea packages for all affected versions this week, although there is
no official decision yet.

Thank you for the report and sorry for any inconvenience!
Andrei

Ofcourse I could set the mode but because of > security we do not want
