the configuration changes during the maintenance window. But it will wait until after 36 hours you will find if the HA works or not, which may happen during the normal hours. Or you can adjust your lease time to like 1 hour and then make the changes during
the maintenance window. And you will also need to design and test your failover conditions before the changes.

A failover peer can be added later. You can start with no HA<br>
configuration and add it later. Please note that you should plan to<br>
do it during a maintenance window, however, as leases will need to be<br>
synced between the two and DHCP services will be stopped during this<br>
time. If you have a lot of leases, this process can take a few<br>
seconds or even minutes depending.<br>
