The lifetime is set to 1 hour. But it seems that the IP stays reservered (on mac) as I see in the logging that the IP cannot be assigned due to conflict. </div>

Probably correct - but if that time was set at max 1h then it would be released at latest in 1h. The only change is that it will renew the lease more often with little effect on traffic.<br>
