You should probably be aware that OpenReg 1.0.2 is not a complete  
system, ready to operate a registry out of the box. While we are  
aware that several domain registries have taken this code and built  
upon it to run production services, to date none of those  
modifications have been donated back into the OpenReg code repository.

So, while we still think OpenReg provides a solid foundation for  
building a domain registry system, some development on your part will  
be required.

Having said all that:

Are you making sure that you run the msgq daemon before you run sbin/ 
log-monitor?
