ISCwrt build server: being installed as I write. I am doing a timed
test build to see how fast it is, and to see if I missed any
dependencies.
Since cerowrt is unfunded, it is the path of least risk and greatest
utilization for isc to now target and leverage openwrt directly, both
with builds and packages. We can create a much simpler build with just
the isc pieces in it, and not worry about end-user functionality.
I've discussed this with francisco, and he agrees.
It does considerably alter someone elses testing and continuous
integration workload.
The isc package repository will work with openwrt, and to some extent,
mine and vice versa.
I do plan to use the last stable version of the cerowrt kernel tree,
(which I am in the process of pushing up to openwrt), but the
remainder will be nearly pure openwrt. Similarly, as the buildbot
process for openwrt is in chaos at present, I will use the last stable
version I had, which dates back to april 10th or so.
There are fixes for several CVE's (openssl, samba) which I will cherry
pick from the existing trees.
As for the configuration:
Wireless will be disabled by default (the openwrt standard)
wireless and ethernet Interfaces, bridged
standard names used (eth0,eth1,etc)
no vpn, no bind, no test tools,
tcsh, zile, vim, gdb
I remain in a quandary about dnsmasq vs isc-dhcp, and in order to make
this work at all I'll have to modify the firewall rules at the very
least.
