um, er, ah, on the cpe side I integrate with 6 major public git repos,
at least 10 less major ones, and how things happen are a 'package' is
pulled either from stable sources or a specific git commit, patched,
compiled, built, and installed. The 'build this package' mechanism is
what is under git and project control...
Now, local copies are kept of all these repos, but the sync-ing
mechanism is usually through
the 'feed' mechanism, so as an example, there would be a build
structure for the private components of this project much like how
ceropackages is structured...
The 'codebase' is otherwise over 600MB in size.
so when you say 'a' git repo, I get nervous. :) What pieces of the
source base need to be held privately and cannot be public? How
private do they need to be? (example of problem, I have pre-existing
build machine, wasn't planning on building another, was planning on
making it possible to do builds anywhere needed)
In aftr, for example, the package system is buried in the codebase,
where what usually happens is the package system is separate, and
integrates the codebase.
