If I understand well:
 - we have at least 2 clients (any box with a working Ethernet can be
used as clients. BTW it is still useful to compile on clients
a PCP client (libpcp of any AFTR distrib, don't forget the python
(2 or 3) module), NAT-PMP client (libnatpmp on miniupnp site) and
UPnP IGD client (original or modified miniupnpc)).

 - we have 2 CPEs, if a CPE is a netbook a switch is needed between
this netbook and clients. if a CPE is a Netgear the switch is integrated.
BTW the UPnP IGD/NAT-PMP/PCP server runs in the CPE.

 - we have a switch between the CPEs and an instance of an AFTR.
Fine but port replication is a bad idea: it is far simpler to run
wireshark (without the promisc mode) on the AFTR. BTW if you want
to show thing and have a suitcase/bag for heavy things IMHO a VGA
retro projector is far more useful than a carrier grade switch.

 - two AFTR boxes, one is connected at one time. Please forget ucarp
and vrrp, first they don't work with IPv6, second they introduce
a latency in switches. Simply force the same Ethernet and IP addresses
on both sides of the two boxes (cf my mail saying how to do it
  after 10mn of experiments).
