Hi,
The design page preamble suggests that Stork may in the future manage other applications, and suggests hooks might be used for that.
A simple but useful application management however would be to at least monitor the configuration backend database. Stork obviously knows, by reading the Kea configuration files, what is the configuration backend, the address of the database and the credentials to access it. The Stork Agent that runs by definition on the same server as the Kea server, could be told by the Stork server to make use of that information to poll regularly the database by simply reading the server table to retrieve the details of the server it is attached to. That could a simple “keep-alive” type monitoring that would give us the status of all the components of the installation in Stork.
As RADIUS is accessed through a hook, it is appropriate to also monitor the RADIUS server through a hook, or provide an extension to the hook that would allow the Stork Agent to return information about the Kea-RADIUS interactions.
