BIND 'sortlist' preferred IP address

FYI: Versions of Netscape and Explorer I have checked (linux and windows,
exlporer 3, 4, and 5, NS 4.0x and 4.5) do not use another IP from a response
including multiple A records once the 1st one worked and then suddenly went
down.

Yes.  When using the gethostbyname() system call to return the hostent
structure,
it actually consists of a list of host addresses but most program only
looked
at
the first one.  However, I'm not sure if you do a reload on your IE/Netscape
browser, would it look for the second address if the first one failed.
