BIND ACL list and sortlist

Does anyone know how many entries can a ACL list hold ?
Can it hold hundreds of entries.

If my 'sortlist' is composed of several ACL entries each
with hundreds of IP net entries, will there be any
performance panalties ??

Does anyone know what sorting algorithm the 'sortlist'
use ??
