named keeps dieing with no logged errors

I am running bind 8.2.2_P3-1 as a secondary DNS on a RH6.0 box with 
2.2.5-22 kernel.

The bind keeps quietly dieing about twice a week.  There are no error 
messages in /var/log/messages, named disappears from /var/lock/subsys, only 
ndc is still present in /var/run:
srw-------   1 root     root            0 Nov 28 11:13 ndc

I am running the same version of bind on a primary DNS, which is a RH6.1 
box running 2.2.12-20smp kernel.  No problems there.

Any ideas (as wild as they can be) would be greatly appreciated.
