That would be an erroneous assumption. Perhaps you are thinking of
sattelite?

Unless you were answering a large number of queries, or doing a lot of
zone transfers, even if it was a 33.6k link, it shouldn't be a problem.
DNS isn't particularly bandwidth-intensive.
