Domain delegation question

Hello

I recently got a subdomain and I am trying to use the DNS servers of
Granitecanyon to attach it to my IP address.  I was told by the owner of the
higher domain that he instructed his DNS to direct queries about my
subdomain to the Granitecanyon DNS.  However every time I try to access my
subdomain I access the higher domains address instead.

I was told that I need to delegate the domain from Granitecanyon.  However
every time I click on delegate domain at the Granitecanyon site I am
directed to a Register.com login screen and I don't know what to do there.

If anyone has any ideas I would very much appreciate the help.
