The primary server's named.boot file should contain
primary mydomain.com db.mydomain
The secondary server's named.boot file should contain:
secondary mydomain.com 192.168.1.1 db.mydomain

This may not have anything to do with named.boot. You need to have an
entry in db.mydomain that looks like:
ns2 IN A 192.168.1.2
